What is Stork's Nest?
The Stork's Nest is a partnership between Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. and the March of Dimes. The incentive based program serves underprivileged and low-income pregnant women. The program encourages woman to make and keep prenatal appointments and participate in prenatal education classes. The goal of this program is to reduce incidents of premature births.
Since the first Stork's Nest was established in Atlanta in 1971, there have been more than 100 nests established around the country.
How does Stork's Nest work?
Women are encouraged to make prenatal appointments and attend prenatal education classes. For attending prenatal classes and appointments, the women are awarded points which they can use to purchase maternity and baby items from the Stork's Nest.
